Do we all have our listening ears on??  This is good stuff…

As a part of the Circle Triathlon, many racers choose to set up a fundraiser page for themselves or their team.  They create their unique page, add a picture and a short description about the reason they’re fundraising and then, they send out an email invitation to their family and friends to donate on their behalf.  All the money raised goes to The Circle Program.

Nobody has to do this, but they do.  And because they did, to date, they have collectively raised $18,716 in approximately 2 month’s time.  WOW!  It is truly a remarkable thing to so selflessly give.  The fundraisers this year include:

Arline Bownes, Cindy Williams, Carrie MacLeod, Circle Program Board of Directors, Eric Mueller, Jennifer Duby, Laurie Whitley, Susan Jehl, Susan Laverack, Wendy Richardson & Ellen Barlow.  THANK YOU.

PRIZES (the least we can do!)

As promised the top 4 highest fundraisers (excluding the Circle Program Board Member Teams) will receive their prize in the mail:

FIRST PLACE: Eric Mueller, $300 gift certificate to Common Man

SECOND PLACE: Laurie Whitley, $200 gift certificate to Rhino Bike Works

THIRD PLACE: Arline Bownes, $100 gift certificate to Lavinia’s Relaxed Dining

FOURTH PLACE: Susan Laverack, 2 free lift tickets to Loon Mountain Resort

Thank you to all the fundraisers and donors of the 2013 Circle Triathlon!!

Celeste St. Pierre will be offering a Stroke (swim) and Stride (run/walk) training/social event Tuesday evenings in August at the Squam / Ashland town beach at 5:30 pm.  This will be a chance to swim the course for the Circle Triathlon, gain some instruction then get out on the run course, too.  You can choose one, two or three loops of the swim, then head out for the run which is about a 2.75 miles loop.  You can walk the course as well, it’s up to you depending on what you’d like to get out of your time there.  This is also a great time to practice transitioning from one event to another, be social with a run/walk friend, extend your training/fitness time as well as enjoy this beautiful area we all live in!

$20 drop in rate.  (You must be comfortable with swimming already as this is not intended to be a swim lesson.)

Celeste St. Pierre is a Master Total ImmersionTM Coach, as well as a triathlete with over 20 years of experience in Sprint, Olympic, off-road, half and Ironman races, including the Great Floridian 1998, Ironman Florida 2000, and Triathlon All-American 2004. She was third in her age group in 2011 at the Nationals Sprint Tri and was Regional Champion in 2011 for Off-Road triathlon.  She is a certified Power Pilates Instructor, a USA Swimming Level 1 Coach, and a USA Triathlon Coach. She lives and trains in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

We know you are training hard, so to give you a nutritional edge before or after the race, we want you to know about ENERGYbits® which are quickly becoming the fuel of choice for triathletes.  ENERGYbits® provide a steady stream of energy that prevents fatigue and their high concentration of antioxidants and Omega 3 also reduce inflammation and muscle soreness.  ENERGYbits® are made from 100% organically grown spirulina algae. Not only has spirulina algae been a favorite of Olympic athletes for decades, it is the most environmentally sustainable food in the world and has been endorsed by the United Nations, World Bank and NASA since the early 1970’s.

We’re not aware of anything that offers your body and the environment the blend of benefits you get from ENERGYbits® so we are excited to be working with them. We hope you’ll try them soon and when you do, use the promotional code CIRCLETRI to get a 15% DISCOUNT off your purchase.  You can only buy ENERGYbits® online, so visit them at www.energybits.com. When you check out, just enter discount code CIRCLETRI into the coupon box and your discount will immediately show up on screen. The discount works on all their products.

When a handful of ENERGYbits® are swallowed 10 -15 minutes prior to, or during a run, they provide a steady flow of energy, eliminate fatigue and speed recovery, all naturally and all without digestive distress.  The reason is simple. ENERGYbits® do not contain any caffeine, sugar or chemicals yet they have the highest concentration of protein in the world (64%), all in amino acid form which are absorbed instantly to provide a steady flow of glucose. ENERGYbits® also contain 40 vitamins/minerals, natural nitric oxide to open blood vessels, antioxidants to fight free radicals, Omega 3 to reduce inflammation, iron to prevent fatigue and electrolytes to prevent dehydration. All this from just one ingredient –organic spirulina and all for just one calorie per tab.

This stuff works!

Here is a recent Circle Program story to warm your heart and make you feel great about supporting these girls through participating in the Circle Triathlon…circle girls 2

Often times the staff at The Circle Program refers to giving our Circle Girls “a helping hand up” as opposed to a “hand out”. Just the other day one of our long-time supporters, “Cora”, was visiting camp and took a spill on the trail heading to the waterfront. Immediately, one of our brand new Circle Girls and a returning Circle Girl came to her aid b…y helping her up and getting her back on her feet. They carefully escorted her down to the water, each one holding onto an elbow for guidance, continuing on to the dining hall for lunch. At lunch counselors overheard the same two Circle Girls repeatedly asking Cora if she needed anything; water, food, etc. Their concern and attentiveness truly touched Cora. Observers suspect it also gave the Circle Girls an opportunity to transcend the age difference and give back to someone else in need. It was their turn to offer a helping hand up.

Now – if you haven’t already – REGISTER to be a part of this wonderful, community event!!  Remember… Prices go up August 24th so just do it already!!
